Join the ride

If you are a cyclist, or even a non cyclist who regularly keeps fit and would like to get involved in riding and raising money for cancer, this is an invitation to join us on our ride from Melbourne to Uluru / Ayers rock in August 2009.

Melbourne to Ayers rock is approximately 2,300km and would be an average of 180km per day over 13 days.

Why a group of cyclists:
Riding with a group of cyclists will make the trip more enjoyable, and more importantly each cyclist contributes to raising money by promoting the ride within their own networks.

Why in August 2009:
Giving time to prepare is important. This allows time to organise maximum sponsorship, physical preparation and extras like support team volunteers and accommodation donations. Weather is also a consideration when riding to the middle of Australia.

What is needed:
You will need to supply your own bike / supplies. We will be searching for a sponsor, and the more cyclists, the better chance of securing a multiple sponsors. You will need to supply your own food and drinks as well. The only other costs are Petrol for the support car and accommodation (note: the majority of accommodation will be either donated or heavily discounted).

For more information:
If you would like more info, please contact Andrew Hogben on +61 3 8320 7582 or email andrew.hogben@rowben.com.au. All are welcome to join.
